Supreme Court denies review of a Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal Decision, Wahi v. Charleston Area Medical Center. Denial of certiorari review of Wahi leaves standing a Fourth Circuit decision recognizing the strength of the Health Care Quality Improvement Act of 1986 (HCQIA) immunity and peer review immunity under HCQIA and provides helpful guidance to hospital and medical staff. Fourth Circuit’s decision is one of the most important post-Poliner peer review decisions.
